Safer Stronger Communities and the Sustainable Communities Partnerships

The Safer Stronger Communitites Partnership was launched in spring 2007.  Its role was expaned from focusing purely on crime and disorder reduction and drug misuse to take into account accidents and emergencies, social inclusion and community cohesion.

To assist in achieving this, the Partnership has a number of supporting sub-groups, although the SSCP is currently reviewing this structure with a view to rationalizing them. Under the current structure, the sub-groups cover the following issues:

  • Accidents and Emergencies
  • Alcohol Misuse
  • Antisocial Behaviour
  • Domestic Burglary
  • Domestic Violence
  • Drug Treatment
  • Hate Crime
  • Prolific and Priority Offenders
  • Reducing Drug Supply
  • Social Inclusion
  • Vehicle Crime
  • Young People’s Substance Misuse
