Trustees wanted for a new exciting Parks Foundation

People Powered Parks Foundation are looking for trustees to join the new board

Rethinking Parks is a national funding programme which enables local authorities to look at the way parks and open spaces are managed and try new approaches to better satisfy the needs of current and future generations.

People Powered Parks is an exciting and innovative project in Redcar & Cleveland which aims to ensure vibrant and community led parks and open spaces which are preserved, protected and enhanced for future generations. Nesta are an innovation charity with a mission to help people and organisations bring great ideas to life, and they have funded the Redcar & Cleveland People Powered Parks project through the Big Lottery and Heritage Lottery funds.

The main aim of the project is to establish a People Powered Parks Foundation, which will be an organisation with charitable objectives that will take a strategic lead role in the management and maintenance for some of Redcar and Cleveland’s parks and countryside parks as well as looking at alternative funding streams. The Foundation board will be made up of a group of committed, knowledgeable and enthusiastic voluntary trustees which we envisage being from a variety of backgrounds but will likely include user groups, the local authority and local businesses.

The project team is now looking for people who would be interested in becoming the founding trustees of this organisation. We are seeking applications from both individuals and organisations to ensure we have a range of skills and backgrounds on the board. We are holding a recruitment process and would ask anyone who is interested to complete an online application form. Closing date for the applications is Friday 15th March 2019 at 5.00 p.m. Interviews will be held on the 2nd April 2019.
