Volunteer Training – Press Release Workshop Tuesday 23rd June – Limited spaces available…..

The workshop, run by Sue Giles, will show you how to write effective news releases that communicate your organisation’s messages and help to build their reputation. The session will be very informal and geared to the needs of the delegates and what they feel they are able to achieve – no pressure:

A look at the local media and how it works
Details of local publications, circulation, working patterns and deadlines
How to write a press release
Who to send a press release to, and when
A practical session discussing delegates’ needs and the best way to raise the profile of their group and publicise events
Delegates will receive hand-outs detailing all local contacts and a press release ‘crib sheet’.

Community Strengthening Grants

North Star Housing Group are offering grants of up to £2,500 to community groups and voluntary organisations in East Cleveland. Grants will be awarded to projects that focus on children and young people, employability and poverty relief however, the panel will consider any project that makes a real difference to the community.

The next deadline for applications is 1st July 2015.
