Better Health Programme Event – 27th January 2016

Amanda Hume, Chief Officer at NHS South Tees Clinical Commissioning Group, writes:

“Many of you will be aware of, or attended, our first Stakeholder Forum event on 30th September 2015, at which we introduced the Securing Quality in Healthcare Services (SeQIHS) Programme led by NHS commissioning organisations and hospital trusts in the Darlington, Durham and Tees Valley area.
The SeQIHS Programme has now evolved into the Better Health Programme and we are holding a second forum event on 27th January 2016 6pm-8pm at Sedgefield Racecourse to give stakeholders the opportunity to come along and hear a programme update and participate in a discussion workshop.

Those that attended the first event will be aware that the programme is examining acute hospital care and what changes may be required to achieve the desired standards of quality in hospital care across Darlington, Durham and Teesside.

As well as hospital care we recognise the importance of well integrated out of hospital care provision (‘Not In Hospital’), and so the programme is also looking closely at how primary, community and social care are connected in our area and how this can be improved in the future to meet increased demand.

The event on 27th January will focus on Not In Hospital and your input is invaluable for helping us shape what these services might look like as the programme develops. Members of the programme team will be available at the event to facilitate discussions and capture the views of participants, and clinicians will also be present to answer questions and provide further detail.

Better Health Programme Listening Events – throughout February 2016

We are also planning 12 Better Health Programme Stakeholder Workshops in February 2016, one in each of our clinical localities. You are welcome to attend a workshop as well as, or instead of the forum event on 27th January. Dates for each of the 12 events will be confirmed and shared with you in January, including details of how to register your attendance.
For more information on any of our events, or to register your attendance for 27th January at Sedgefield Racecourse, please contact betterhealthprogramme@nhs.net or call 01642 745401. For catering purposes for the event at Sedgefield Racecourse the deadline for registrations is 5pm Thursday 21st January 2016. Would you please inform us of any dietary or special requirements you need to attend our events.”
