Inter-Action (September 2016 Edition 1)

Co-ordinating Volunteering in Community Safety – 21st September 1.30pm-4.30pm

MVDA are running an exploratory workshop within Cleveland’s Safer Future Communities Network work at Ladgate Lane.

The workshop is for organisations operating within a community safety context within the voluntary and community sector across Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton and Hartlepool that recruit and manage volunteers. The purpose of the workshop is to:

  • Gather information about current practice in volunteer recruitment/management from individual organisations
  • Identify areas of commonality and duplication
  • Begin some cost/benefits analysis to inform thinking on the potential to develop a Cleveland-wide, co-ordinated volunteer service for organisations working in community safety

Attendees should be volunteer co-ordinators or those who have responsibility for volunteers within their organisation.

Business Expo at the Palace Hub – Friday 14th October 9am – 4pm

DigitalCity and Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council is holding a Business Expo at the Palace Hub in Redcar on Friday 14 October 2016, 9.00am – 4.00pm.

The aim of the event is to showcase the fantastic small businesses who are located in and around the borough of Redcar & Cleveland, as well as providing an opportunity to see first-hand the facilities available in the Palace Hub.

Digital workshops are also being delivered by Google, Boho Media and ST Media to a mixed audience of both small and medium sized businesses and sole traders.

This event provides a great opportunity for you to promote your services at the exhibition being held throughout the day.

A Voice for Disabled People in Redcar & Cleveland – Wednesday 14th September 12.30pm – 3pm

Redcar ROC has received funding to establish a collective voice for disabled people. They will be holding six meetings over the coming year and the first one will focus on ‘transport’.

Their first meeting will be held on Wednesday 14th Srptember at Coatham Memorial Hall, Redcar, TS10 1RH from 12.30-3pm. Light refreshments will be available.

Redcar Development Trust are holding their next Intergenerational Day on Wednesday 28th September 10am – 1pm.

Entertainment provided by Fran Kline with free teas, coffees, juices, nibbles and cakes are all provided free.
