Community/Participant Engagement Worker

37 Hours per week, £25,000 pa

Working across Redcar & Cleveland based at Westfield Farm, Dormanstown, TS10 5NA

Step Forward Tees Valley is an exciting new employment programme jointly funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund. The programme will support approximately 2,500 people living in the Tees Valley area, experiencing a range of complex needs, to make lasting and positive change and to move, in time, into training and employment. The programme will run until October 2019.

Step Forward Tees Valley will be managed through the Northern Inclusion Consortium (NIC), an established partnership of four of the North East’s largest charities-DISC, Groundwork North East, Changing Lives and Mental Health Concern. To deliver the programme the NIC will work in partnership with 23 local voluntary and community sector partners, each with specialist knowledge and expertise in their field. Redcar & Cleveland Voluntary Development Agency (RCVDA) are one of those 23 VCS partners.

In order to support the delivery of this programme RCVDA are looking to recruit a Community/Participant Engagement Worker.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Thrives in a challenging environment.
  • Is proactive in their engagement with individuals and organisations.
  • Can build relationships of trust with some of the most marginalised individuals within our communities.
  • Brings lived experience to bear on their work.
  • Has an understanding of the differing needs of communities across Redcar & Cleveland.
  • Values and understands the contribution that volunteering and volunteers make to our communities.
  • Can accept a role that might not necessarily fit within a standard Monday-Friday 9-5 working pattern.

The closing date for applications will be the Monday 24th October 2016 with interviews taking place week commencing 31st October 2016.
