VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

About Cleveland Fire Support Network

Our aim is to educate and protect the health, life and property of the public within the United Kingdom, by promoting the issues, services and equipment relating to fire safety and other emergency situations

Drivers

Volunteer Drivers are needed! If you have a driving licence we can offer you a driving assessment through Cleveland Fire Brigade which will allow you to drive a company vehicle. As well as being a driver you will also be able to carry out the following roles:
Delivery of risk reduction equipment
Trailer towing

After Fire Support

As a volunteer you will be trained to complete assessments after the event of a fire and evaluate what support is necessary to help the victims. We also offer a cleaning service and provide replacement items for those lost in a fire as well as counselling and support

Heart Start Training Support

This course runs in partnership with the British Heart Foundation. You can train to become a trainer or train as a support volunteer to educate members of the public on dealing with an unconscious person, the signs and symptoms of a heart attach, recognising a cardiac arrest and performing CPR, dealing with choking, dealing with serious bleeding

Interpretation Support

Volunteers with additional languages can greatly assist the Network and Brigade by providing interpretation to the BME communities within the Cleveland area, this will increase fire safety within our BME community making families safe and free from the risks of fire. You will be making a valuable contribution to our work in reducing the risk of fire.

Learn and Live Support

This is a presentation lead training programme involving real life situations such as house fires, drugs and alcohol misuse and driving incidents. Volunteers are trained to support an audience and help individuals if they become uncomfortable or distressed whilst watching the footage.

Office Duties Admin

Volunteers are needed to carry out general office duties and deal with telephone enquiries.

Sensory Loss Alarm Fitter

Volunteers needed to fit sensory loss alarm.

Un-contactables

It is recommended that every resident has a home fire safety visit, but sometimes residents are not at home when fire personnel call, so in these instances’ volunteers will try to make contact and carry out these visits on behalf of the Fire Brigade.
