We Care You Care – South Tees Carers Week

This year for national Carers Week, RCVDA are supporting We Care You Care to make caring visible and valued across the South Tees area.

What is Carers Week?

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

This year we are coming together to Make Caring Visible and Valued.

We Care You Care is a ‘one stop shop’ information and advice website and campaigns project for unpaid carers across the South Tees.

We Care You Care is hosted by Middlesbrough Voluntary Development Agency (MVDA) and funded by Redcar and Cleveland Council and Middlesbrough Council with the aim of providing unpaid carers with coordinated accessible and relevant information which showcases the offer of support provided by local organisations.

By working together to promote a local coordinated campaign we can reach a much wider and more diverse audience and make a bigger impact on Making Caring Visible and Valued in our local communities.

A ‘Carer’ is anyone, including children and adults, who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support. The care they give is unpaid.

If you are looking after a loved one and would like to know more about what your carers rights, some information on taking care of your own health and well-being or to find out about the fantastic range of local services that can support you visit https://wecareyoucare.info/

There are some great activities taking place for carers and their loved ones throughout this Carers Week. Look and book your places now to avoid disappointment:
