A letter from Richard Gerrard, Community Health Development Co-ordinator of the RCBC Health Improvement Team at Redcar & Cleveland Council about a free training offer.
Dear Colleagues,
You may recall that earlier this year RCBC Health Improvement Team became a host organisation for a Government backed programme called Money Guiders (Please see attached summary) which we believe has the potential to have a huge & positive impact in relation to how advice and guidance is given in respect to a whole range of topics connected to money and poverty.
We would like to offer you the chance to engage with this programme, with an online (TEAMS), 1 hr induction sessions available on selected dates in November.
Following your induction, you’ll be free to complete online modules, at a time of your choosing, dipping in and out of each module as often as you wish until completion.
Module topics include themes such as welfare & benefits, cashflow and budgeting, debt, and housing to name but a few. Participants are free to pick and choose which modules are of interest to them/relevant to your work and the communities you support.
Once completed, you’ll have the opportunity to progress to levels 2 and 3 of a given theme so that you can build upon your knowledge and understanding of a given topic. Engagement with the programme can also count towards CPD with a free City & Guilds Accreditation option too.
There is a robust evidence base to show that this programme has and continues to work, with numerous organisations across the country embedding this with their teams and into their cost of living strategies.
We really hope this is something that will be of interest to you. We understand that with in your roles you are often faced with situations where you are asked for advice around money. This training will enhance your confidence, knowledge and skills to handle these queries in a safe and timely way, knowing when to signpost and refer.

Please note, as this is a national programme we can not guarantee places, but we will of course do our very best.
