Context of Opportunity
South Tees Safeguarding Children Partnership (STSCP) is a multi-agency partnership between Middlesbrough Council, Redcar & Cleveland Council, Tees Valley Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), and Cleveland Police.
The STSCP aims to support and enable local organisations and agencies to work together in a system which places the child at the heart of the process, with a key focus on both improving practice and enhancing outcomes for children and their families.
South Tees Safeguarding Children Partnership (STSCP) has asked us to circulate these new training courses available to all professionals working across the South Tees.
The Impact of Parent/Carer Learning Disability on Parenting
Training Description
This course aims to gain an understanding of parental/carer learning disability and the impact this may have on the well-being of children and young people.
This course is designed for all those who directly with children and young people and/or undertake assessment of children, young people and their families e.g. professionals from Health (Level 3 and above), Social Care, Education, Police, His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Services, CAFCASS etc.
This course will be face to face and is to be held at myplace.

Training Description
This course aims to raise awareness and understanding of how parental mental ill health can impact on parenting and to explore the impact of parental mental ill health on children.
This course is designed for all those who directly with children and young people and/or undertake assessment of children, young people and their families e.g. professionals from Health (Level 3 and above), Social Care, Education, Police, His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Services, CAFCASS etc.
This course will be held virtually.
