North East Racism Survey – North East Anti-Racism Coalition

Opportunity Ended

The North East Anti-Racism Coalition is a movement of individuals and organisations committed to helping to make the North East a region that actively opposes racism and hatred based on religious identity.

In partnership with Newcastle University, the coalition want to build a clearer understanding of how racism and religious hate affect people’s lives across the region.

By sharing your experiences and views, you’ll help gather vital evidence so their work is rooted in the real, current realities people face.

They know that talking about racism can be upsetting, so please take care and pause if you need to.

The more people take part, the stronger and more useful the findings will be.

So do it now, share it with others, and help them reach as many voices as possible.

The deadline to complete the survey is 18th July 2025.

They want to hear from everyone who lives and works in the North East, regardless of ethnicity or other characteristics.

Everyone who takes part can choose to enter a prize draw, twenty individuals and organisations will each receive a £100 gift voucher.

Newcastle University is overseeing the survey to make sure it meets ethical standards and that your information is handled with care.

Please complete the survey using the link below – it only takes around 10 minutes.

They welcome responses from individuals and organisations.

In addition, the coalition are collecting evidence from organisations.

Please click on the venue link below to submit evidence on:

  1. The current nature and extent of racism in the North East (including the form that racism takes, the specific groups targeted, and the factors that promote it).

  3. The impact of the riots last summer on black and minority ethnic communities in the North East
  4. Any initiatives that you or others have taken to challenge and overcome racism
