Context of Role
A Way Out is an outreach and prevention charity which aims to engage, empower and equip vulnerable and excluded women, families and young people to live lives free from harm, abuse and exploitation and to reduce life limiting choices and behaviour.
Role Description
A Way Out are looking for exceptional volunteers to help with their Liberty project as part of their outreach efforts.
The Liberty Project supports women who are at risk or have experienced multiple disadvantages (including addiction, homelessness, and mental ill health) are socially isolated, involved in on street sex work and fear the consequences of accessing support (criminalisation, repercussions from perpetrators, having children removed into care, or being stigmatised).
The aim is to have a safe, warm space in Stockton, where they can receive support to overcome the causes and consequences of the abuse, harm and exploitation they experience.
Purpose of the Role
To encourage engagement with the drop in, serve the hot and cold drinks and non-perishables which are regularly given out alongside advice and information on staying safe, condoms, homeless packs and emotional support as well as promoting A Way Out activities and other specialist services that are available.
