Context of Role

Saltburn Christian Projects exists to support and assist young people in Saltburn and its surrounding area.

Through an active expression of the Christian faith and its values, they help young people make informed choices in education, training, health, independence, and recreation.

Their aim is to improve the quality of life of young people and encourage them to grow into full maturity as individuals and as members of society.

Role Description

Saltburn Christian Projects seeks a driven Treasurer to be a member of their Board of Trustees and help shape their future.

The Treasurer is a key member of the Board of Trustees and holds responsibility for overseeing the financial matters of the charity in line with best practice, legal requirements, and the organisation’s Christian ethos.

Purpose of the Role

To manage and maintain accurate records of income and expenditure (bookkeeping of daily transactions).

To oversee payroll for 2 staff and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

To work with trustees and staff to develop budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.

To support grant applications with accurate financial information.

To present clear financial updates to the Board at quarterly trustee meetings.

To ensure the charity complies with its financial obligations to the Charity Commission, HMRC, and funders.

To advise trustees on financial implications of strategic decisions.
