Context of Role

Home-Start Teesside offers befriending support along with practical and emotional advice in the homes of families who are having difficulties managing parenting for a variety of different reasons.

Role Description

Home Start Teesside are looking for Home Visit Volunteers to offer a warm chat and a practical hand for 2 to 3 hours a week.

Some parents simply need someone by their side — someone who listens, encourages and doesn’t judge.

No special qualifications are necessary to become a Home-Start volunteer, but volunteers are usually parents or grandparents with an interest in, and experience of, young children and family life.

They welcome volunteers from all sections of the community.

Purpose of the Role

Just 2–3 hours a week, a warm chat and a practical hand can make a world of difference.

Whether it’s a mum with twins, a dad feeling isolated, or a family new to the country, your presence can bring real hope; You could be the steady support that helps them through.
