Making a Subject Access Request - RCVDA

Making a Subject Access Request

The Information Commissioner’s Office is offering a new service that allows you to ask for your personal information from an organisation.

How does it work?

This service will create an email to the organisation you specify, which will include both your request for your personal information and everything they need to respond. You’ll also get a copy for your records.

The Information Commissioner’s Office won’t see the reply you receive. The organisation should reply to you directly.

Where can I find it?

This service is available online through the website linked below.

What will I need?

To make a request you will need both:

  • The name of the organisation you are making your request to.
  • The email address of the organisation. Tip: you can usually find a suitable email address in the organisation’s Privacy notice.
